WHAT DOES CHARISMATIC MEAN?

Pope Francis refers to the Charismatic Renewal as 'a current of grace' which God is using to renew and the restore the Church. The word 'charism' is the Greek word for gift. A Charismatic Renewal is therefore a renewal of the gifts of the Holy Spirit released through Baptism in the Holy Spirit; Matt 3:11, Acts 1:5-8. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a 'personal Pentecost' that empowers individuals to be instruments of God's love and grace for witness, healing and evangelisation.
